The Writers’ Agreement

Congratulations on being accepted into The ResearchOps Review Writers’ Program! You are one of twenty-two people worldwide. By accepting a place in the Writers’ Program, you’re entering into this agreement with The ResearchOps Review.

1. Application Process

The ResearchOps Review may decline any application without providing specific reasons. All editorial decisions are final.

2. Program Commitment

By accepting a place in The Writers’ Program, you agree to complete the full editorial process from workshop attendance through final publication. The ResearchOps Review allocates substantial, nonretrievable resources to each author, including workshop facilitation, developmental editing, line editing, graphics production, and marketing, so it’s vital that you honour your commitment.

We understand that unexpected life events might make this impossible. If you experience a serious illness, family emergency, bereavement, or a comparable life-altering event that prevents you from completing the program, please let us know as soon as possible.

3. Deadlines

You agree to meet all deadlines established during the editorial process. We understand that circumstances may require flexibility, and extensions can be granted when needed. However, if deadlines are repeatedly missed without reasonable cause, we may need to remove you from the program to maintain the schedule for all authors.

If you withdraw from the program after final edits are complete, we reserve the right to finalise and publish the content under your name.

4. Editorial Process

The Review operates a developmental editorial process involving multiple revision stages. When we ask you to progress from pitch to outline to draft to revision, it indicates our investment in developing your work toward publication. That said, we may occasionally determine that a piece will not reach our publication standards. Should this happen, all rights revert to you immediately, and you may publish your work elsewhere.

5. Copyright and Publication Rights

Upon publication, you assign all rights, title, and interest in your article to The ResearchOps Review in perpetuity. This means you agree not to republish the complete article, or more than 20% of the article, on any other platform or in any medium.

The Review retains final editorial control over headlines and subheadings; all visual elements, including graphics and layout; distribution channels (digital, print, sponsor platforms, or other Review properties); and editorial amendments for clarity, house style, or factual accuracy.

6. Using Generative AI

You agree not to use generative AI tools to draft your article. AI-generated content does not meet our quality standards and creates significant editorial challenges. You may use AI tools for ideation, research, or argument testing, but please disclose all AI usage to your editor. Regardless of the tools you use, you remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, proper sourcing, and integrity of your work.

7. Promoting Your Article

You agree to share your published article on LinkedIn at least three times within fourteen days of publication. This helps your work reach a wider audience and supports The ResearchOps Review’s reach.
